A blog or web-log is a Internet web based journal. Blogs are a versatile medium used to easily share with the world information on any or all topics. They range any and all topics from Vegan Lunch Box who specializes one of her blogs about packing her first grader's gourmet vegan lunch every day that includes pictures and recipes (how come my wife never packs me sushi?) to Steven Kiel a Army Reserve Staff Sgt. milblogger who writes about his daily life in Iraq.
Blogs not only put out information on a web with text, pictures and web-links people can also comment on the blog posts.
Directly under each blog entry are four items.
Date it was posted, Category it was Filed, Permalink, and Comments.
Category- This isn't there just for my own personal satisfaction. It is so readers can use the Category links on the column to the right to see only stories in that subject. So if you only want to see stories that have EMU interest you click on EMU.
Permalink- Stories will move down the page and evidently be archived. But each blog post has it's own web address so you can use these permalinks to bookmark the post or make a link to it else where. So say if Russell writes a story on something he can find the permalink web address and email to his family so he can brag about his blog post!
Finally....
COMMENTS -
Comments are the next cool thing about blogs, they allow you the reader to talk about the post and have feedback between other readers and the blog poster. So you could post your opinion on a blog story, you could complain about my writing skills or you could post other links to stories people may be interested in.
